Great restaurants in the UK – 1/2: Miller & Carter

I´d like to recommend two restaurants. Both are chains, so there are several of each of them scattered across the United Kingdom. The first one is Miller & Carter steakhouses. This post is based on my visits of their branch in Talke.

If you crave for a proper steak, head to one of the 35 (36th coming soon) Miller & Carter restaurants. If you don´t feel like having a steak, you can choose from other dishes like ribs, burgers, fish and seafood etc.

As a Czech person I love this restaurant for the fact that they have the Plzeň beer (Pilsner Urquell) on tap.

Check out their promotions – when you sign up for a newsletter you get a free glass of wine. And via this email updates you can plan your visit to make the most of these promotions. Last year we went there some time around my birthday and I received a voucher for a bottle of champagne for free!

It´s a great place for celebrations of any kind or just for a meeting with your friends. It´s quite expensive though, so I always perceive it as a treat.

As you can see on the picture below, the steak (8 – 18oz, on or off the bone) comes with a button of parsley butter, seasoned fries or jacked potato or salad (if I remember correctly), a slice of onion loaf, balsamic glazed beef tomato and a lettuce wedge with a sauce of your choice. You can also pick one steak sauce. Last time, after I found out that they don´t do my favourite Bordelaise sauce from red wine anymore, I tried Calvados peppercorn sauce and it was nice.
