Macro – insect II

Today I took my camera for a walk again. It looks in August and September the weather has been trying to make up for the shitty period of April to July, so it actually felt like summer.

I was hoping to see the heron at the lake. It didn’t show up, so I was thinking I could see at least some dragonflies. I did see some, but flying around and if they are not stationary, I just can’t take picture of them, they are so fast!

After a while waiting for them to land somewhere, which didn’t happen, I tried to focus on other potential subjects. And, on a wooden fence, there was this colourful beauty!

After a while it opened its wing-cases and revealed its beauty in full colour:

Then I also took some pictures of a bee (this photo is processed, in contrast to the rest of the snaps where all post-processing is only cropping). There was also a lazy fly that didn’t move too much; thanks to that I could focus nicely on its eyes and, for the first time, I managed to get a photo showing the compound eye.

I hope there will be some more rainless days so that I can practice a bit more!
